How Do I Make Meatloaf With Sausage?

Fire up the oven and get ready to create a delicious dish that’ll make your taste buds sing! 

Start by preheating it to 350F. Next, dice up some peppers and onion into tiny pieces before removing mild Italian sausage meat from its casings directly into a large mixing bowl of ground chuck. Pour in eggy goodness plus marinara sauce for extra flavor – yum! 

Crush Ritz crackers with a rolling pin or bottomed pot inside Ziploc bag then pour crumbs over mixture in the big bowl. Get your hands dirty as you combine ingredients together well with thorough stirring motion until all are totally mixed-up scrumptiousness one only dreams about eating at night… 

Time to scoop mix into loaf pan firmly pressing down & popping it on middle shelf so those center point temperatures reach 160 F once 1hr10min – 1 hr 20 min later passes (plus timer’s not set off smoke detector!). 

Grab an oven mitt when the cooking is done ’cause this hot item needs resting time & will still stay warm even after 5 mins fly away too quickly like always does…

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 lbs mild Italian sausage
  • 1 ½ lbs ground chuck
  • 40 Ritz crackers
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Dice up the peppers and onion.
  3. Remove the mild Italian sausage meat from the sausage casings and dump it into a large mixing bowl with the ground chuck. 
  4. Add the Onion and Peppers, the eggs and the marinara sauce to the meat mixture.
  5. Place the Ritz crackers into a large Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin or heavy bottomed pot.
  6. Pour the Ritz cracker crumbs into the bowl with the meat.
  7. Use your hands to mix the ingredients well.
  8. Scoop the meat mixture into a loaf pan and press it in well.
  9. Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake the meatloaf until a meat thermometer inserted into the center reads 160F. 1hr10min - 1hr20min.
  10. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and allow it to rest in the pan for 5 minutes.
