What is the difference between applesauce sugar cookies and regular sugar cookies?

Applesauce sugar cookies are a healthier alternative to traditional sugar cookies. They are made with applesauce instead of oil, and this makes them lower in calories and fat. In addition, applesauce provides some nutritional benefits that oil does not. It is a good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Applesauce also gives the cookies a moist, chewy texture that is very delicious.

If you are looking for a healthier cookie option, then applesauce sugar cookies are a great choice.

What are some of the benefits of using applesauce in sugar cookies?

If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to butter or oil in your baking, applesauce is a great option. Not only is it lower in calories and fat, but it also adds a touch of sweetness and moisture to recipes. This makes it ideal for sugar cookies, which can often be dry and crumbly.

Simply substitute applesauce for the butter or oil called for in the recipe, and you’ll end up with a delicious, moist cookie that’s sure to please. Plus, there’s no need to feel guilty about indulging in a couple of these treats – they’re actually pretty good for you!

Are there any downsides to using applesauce in sugar cookies?

Anyone who has ever baked knows that sugar cookies are a delicate balancing act. Too much flour and they’ll be dry and crumbly, but too little and they’ll spread out too thin. You also have to be careful about the type of sugar you use, as brown sugar will make them chewy while white sugar will make them crisp.

However, one ingredient that is often overlooked is applesauce. While it might seem like an odd addition to a sugar cookie, applesauce can actually help to make them more dense and prevent spreading. So, if you’re looking for a denser cookie, be sure to adjust your baking time accordingly. And who knows, you might just find that applesauce is the secret ingredient you’ve been missing all along.

  1. I did add & mixed in just a dash of cinnamon to the applesauce or you can buy the cinnamon applesauce in the small snack size containers if you didn’t want to by a large jar.
