What do you need to make DIY Lemonade Popsicles?

Fresh Lemons – The lemons are the key ingredient, and it’s best to use plump, fresh lemons to get the most flavor.

Lemonade – Any store-bought brand will work, or you can make your own lemonade. To make your own, just combine 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 cups of water, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice together.

How To Make Lemonade Popsicles At Home

  • Get out your popsicle molds and add the lemon pieces to them.
  • Fill the popsicle molds with lemonade on top of the lemons.
  • Freeze the popsicles overnight.
  • Run the molds under some hot water for 20 seconds to loosen the popsicles. Take them out and enjoy!

How Long Do Lemonade Frozen Popsicles Last?

One thing we love about these popsicles is that they will last up to 2 – 3 months! Just follow the lemonade popsicles instructions, and you can leave them in the molds or take them out.

If you choose to remove the popsicles from the mold, place them inside of a freezer-safe container with a tight-fitting lid. Keeping air away from them is essential to avoid freezer burn. It’s best if you can place pieces of parchment paper between the popsicles to keep them from sticking together.

Another option is to purchase popsicle bags. They make plastic bags that are the perfect size for popsicles and make saving them super easy.

Can I Add Other Fruits To This Lemonade Popsicles Recipe?

Absolutely! Adding additional fruits is a great way to change the flavors. Depending on our mood or who we are feeding the popsicles to, will affect what we use. I love the flavor of lemon, so sometimes I will add fruits with it, and other times I will omit the lemons complete and trade them for a different fruit. Consider any of these ideas:

Strawberries

Limes

Oranges

Pineapples

Grapefruit

Blueberries

Peaches

Mango

Grapes

Kiwi

Raspberries

Blackberries

Can I Make Popsicles If I Don’t Have a Mold?

Yes, you can make lemon popsicles even if you don’t own a mold. I enjoy the convenience of using my popsicle mold, but you can make them without. Consider trying any of these wonderful options:

Cups – You can use small plastic cups or even paper cups in place of popsicle molds. Put the fruit in first, followed by the lemonade. You can add sticks to the center of the cup, but they may not stand up. If that’s the case, simply eat the popsicles with a spoon out of the cup.

Ice Cube Tray – If you are looking to make small popsicles, this is a fantastic way to do so. Simply add the fruit to the ice cube tray and drizzle the lemonade on top. These are great to drop in your ice tea to add some flavor too.

Pudding Cups – If you have pudding cups or yogurt cups that you would normally throw away, they would be a great idea. Prepare the same as you would with regular cups.

Are These Creamy Or Icy Popsicles?

These lemonade frozen popsicles are icy instead of creamy. We love the texture and flavor of these DIY lemonade popsicles. However, if you want to make them creamy, that’s fine too. Simply add in ½ cup of heavy whipping cream, coconut milk, or almond milk to give them more of a creamy texture.
