  1. Wash potatoes thoroughly. Slice the baby potatoes in half or into bite sized pieces. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Drizzle the potatoes with the oil and cover with the salt and pepper. Toss the potatoes around in the bowl to get a nice coating.
  3. Toss the  potatoes in the air fryer basket evenly. Cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Toss well and cook for another 10 minutes.
  4. Let them cool for a few minutes.

Why Do You Soak Potatoes In Water Before Air Frying?

Soaking potatoes in water helps to remove the starch from their surface. When air fried, this starch may make the potatoes mushy but if you soak them you will get crispy potatoes.

These Roasted Potatoes In The Air Fryer are simple and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Baby Red and Gold Potatoes
  • 2 Tbsps Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Salt

Instructions

Notes

  • It’s important that the potatoes are tossed and adjusted halfway through the cooking process. This allows them to cook evenly and not burn half while the other half doesn’t crisp well.
  • This recipe works with 4-quart or larger air fryers. If you’re using a smaller one, cut the recipe in half or cook only half at a time.
  • If your air fryer doesn’t reach 400 degrees, use the closest setting it gives. You may have to add a couple more minutes cooking time.
