How To Make Christmas Cut Out Cookie Recipe with Cream Cheese

  • Preheat the oven to 350
  • Place the egg in a small bowl of warm water to bring it to room temperature.
  • Add cream cheese and granulated sugar to the bowl of stand mixer
  • Mix until light and fluffy
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract  and mix until incorporated.
  • Lastly add in the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Mix until dough comes together 
  • Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.

  • Bake for 10 mins in the preheated oven.
  • Remove cookies from oven and allow them to cool on a cookie rack

How To Make Nutella Frosting

  • Add powdered sugar to a large mixing bowl with 2 tbsp milk and vanilla extract.
  • Mix together, then add the Nutella.
  • Slowly add remaining milk allowing the frosting to mix between adding it.
  • Mix on high until fluffy.

Frost the cookies and add sprinkles immediately after frosting each cookie as the icing will begin to harden.

Easy Christmas Cut Out Sugar Cookies

These cookies are so easy!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, (large) brought to room temperature*
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, scooped & leveled
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Nutella Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup Nutella
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350
  2. Place egg in a bowl of warm water to bring it to room temperature.
  3. Add cream cheese and granulated sugar to the bowl of stand mixer (or hand mixer)
  4. Mix until light and fluffy (about 5 mins)
  5. Add in the egg and vanilla and mix until incorporated.
  6. Lastly add in the flour, baking powder and salt.
  7. Mix until dough comes together (dont over mix)
  8. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
  9. Cut out shapes and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10 mins in preheated oven.
  11. Remove cookies from oven and allow them to cool on a cookie rack

!To Make The Nutella Frosting

Add powdered sugar to mixing bowl with 2 tbsp milk and vanilla.

Mix together, then add nutella.

Slowly add remaining milk allowing the frosting to mix between adding it.

Mix on high until fluffy.
