Can I make this sauce alcohol free?

If you don’t want to use alcohol in this sauce you can use apple juice though the flavor will be different. 

What does the cornstarch do in this sauce?

Adding cornstarch thickens up the sauce. Note the sauce will get thicker as it sits. 

The sauce is too thick. What should I do?

If you have left the sauce in the fridge for a few days it may get quite thick. You can add a little more orange or water to thin it out.
