How To Make The Best Apple Pie
1- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2- Slice your apples in a uniform shape. I used a mandolin for this, but it’s not necessary. Just try to cut them to about ¼ inch thick.
3- Add to your apples the cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and cornstarch and mix well.
4- Place your crust in a pie pan and get ready to add in your apples.
5- In a single layer, place your apples, a small handful of pecans and caramel sauce. Place another single layer of apples and repeat with the pecans and caramel drizzle. Repeat this until you’ve reached the top of your pie crust.
To Make the Caramel Sauce:
1- In a small medium sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat.
2- Whisk in brown sugar, heavy cream, and sea salt.
3-Turn up heat to medium-high until mixture comes to a rolling boil.
4- Turn down heat to medium-low and gently stir mixture for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
5- Take pan off heat and add in vanilla.
6- Return to heat and let thicken for 2-3 more minutes, stirring continuously.
Make your Streusel topping:
1- combine pecans, butter, brown sugar and flour in a bowl.
2- Stir well and sprinkle on the top of your apples.
*Cover pie with aluminum foil and set timer for 30 minutes. Take off the aluminum foil and set timer for additional 20-30 minutes. You can tell your pie is done when you see the apple mixture bubbling.
Drizzle on caramel sauce for extra measure.
Let cool, and enjoy!
Serve with ice cream and more caramel sauce!Â
How To Store This Apple Pie with A Twist
We like to store this apple pie in the refrigerator covered in plastic wrap. If you have a Plastic Pie Container, that will work as well!
How Long Does Apple Pie Last In The Fridge?
Apple pie (or any fruit pie) should be refrigerated in the refrigerator, covered tightly with plastic wrap or with a lid. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, but always check on your leftovers to make sure they look and smell good before eating.

Notes
This recipe is definitely decadent, but surprisingly easy for how rich and delicious it is. I would definitely note not to skimp on the caramel sauce and that quality is definitely key when it comes to picking out the caramel sauce. It is by far the crowning jewel of the pie.Â
If the caramel is too thick, you may have a hard time spreading it. I suggest heating it up in the microwave for 15-20 seconds to soften it up a bit. You don’t want it super runny though or it will leak to the bottom.  Â
I made my caramel sauce, but this is something you can 100% buy and it would still taste delicious. Â
The apples, pecans, and caramel sauce are placed in the pie pan like lasagna. This gives you an even distribution of apple, pecans, and caramel sauce. I also didn’t have any overflow when I did it this way.Â
The Streusel topping:  It’s going to be a little wet, but I use my hands since it’s easier to distribute it over the entire pie. Plus, it’s super delicious and gives you every reason to lick your fingers.Â
